The projects were bought recently from Juhl Energy

The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission has ruled that Consolidated Edison Development, as a new owner of three small projects, can take over the fight with Northwestern Energy over the size of payment for the projects’ output under the  Public Utilities Regulatory Policies Act (PURPA).  The law allows operators to get an ‘avoided cost’ for their power. The three projects are the 20MW Brule, 20MW Aurora and 20MW Davison County, bought recently from Juhl Energy.
