Fri Jul 6 2012, 12:09 PM

State-owned power generator Verve is planning to build a 250MW wind farm at Warradarge, about 270km north of Perth, in Western Australia.

The developer plans to erect up to 100 turbines, each with a maximum height of 152m, in three stages between 2014 and 2020. However, Verve has also revealed that it will only go ahead with the Warradarge project when there is sufficient demand for electricity.

The project cost is estimated around AUS$600 million.
